The Arundel Drive Post Office in Fareham is closing this Sunday 21st June, and local residents were given just days' notice. This is simply not good enough.

The Post Office's own rules say they must give four weeks' notice before closing a branch. They haven't come close to meeting that standard here, and our community deserves better.

​

For many residents, the elderly, those with disabilities, and families without a car, this branch isn't just convenient; it's essential. The nearest alternatives are nearly a mile away, along difficult terrain, with no direct bus link. That is not an acceptable substitute.

I have written to Post Office Limited demanding answers and calling for an urgent reinstatement of services in the Arundel Drive area. But they need to hear from you too.

• Require a full explanation of why proper notice was not given to our community

• Push for a temporary mobile Post Office service while a permanent solution is found
