If you're over 65, get vaccinated!

I am joining England’s Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer in urging Fareham residents aged 65 and over to take up their free NHS flu vaccination before winter sets in.

I am passionate about inspiring young people to become the engineers of the future. But the UK faces an estimated shortfall of 20,000 engineering graduates every year, with half of companies in the sector saying the shortage is having a significant impact on their productivity and growth.

Lloyds Bank visit

I visited Lloyds Bank on West Street in Fareham today to discuss their work in tackling fraud.

I learnt about their work with the Banking Protocol and other support offered by Lloyds and the Fareham branch in protecting those at risk of fraud.

Visit to Cams Hill

I was invited to a private view of the ‘Back to Nature’ art exhibition and Class of 18 Art Show at Cams Hill School, which showcases works by pupils, teachers, professional artists. 

Sea Scouts visit Downing Street

It was fantastic to welcome 3rd Portchester Sea Scouts to Downing Street and Parliament.

The group of 13 youngsters from 3rd Portchester Sea Scouts, along with 4 adult volunteers, toured Downing Street and were able to walk up to the door of Number 10 for a photo opportunity.

Remembrance Day

I was honoured to lay a wreath during the poignant Remembrance Day parade and service today in Fareham.

I would like to say thank you to all those who made it a fitting tribute to our heroes.

Songs the Soldiers sang

I would like to thank David Meatcher, Rev Paul Bedford and all the volunteers at Sarisbury Green United Reform Church for hosting the touching ‘Songs the Soldiers sang’ sing-along.

Supporting vulnerable people

A group of community and health representatives have met to discuss plans to support vulnerable people in Fareham.

The Vulnerable Persons Forum, which I launched earlier this year, works to address issues facing the most in need and at risk in Fareham.
