I am delighted to be holding my second Fareham School's Debating Competition in April 2018.
The debating competition provides students with an excellent opportunity to get to grips with speaking in public, hone their analytical abilities and countless other advantageous skills, all enormously useful in later life. The opportunity may even inspire the pupils to become the political leaders of the future.
The schools will be debating the following motions:
‘This house believes that Brexit will be good for young people’
‘This house believes that social media is harmful’
‘This house believes that religion helps society’
The feedback last year was very positive; the quality of the speaking and the research was very impressive and I am sure to be bowled over again this year. Well done to the students at Portchester Community School for winning the prize last year.
The winning school will get to watch Prime Minister's Questions live.
Good luck to all the teams taking part in 2018!
Please note that this is not a public event, however I will be publishing details of the winning school on my events page.
