Fareham Conservatives Under 35s
Our next event is “Drinks and Debate”, on Friday 16th October, 7, for 7.30pm, upstairs at The Queen’s Head Pub in Titchfield, Entry £1.
The event is open to anyone who is interested in politics and interested in making a difference in society (and under 35years of age). We welcome everyone, regardless of how you voted at the election (or even if you didn't vote). We are group of younger people, from all backgrounds, who are passionate about causes, ranging from education, foreign policy, disability rights, students, jobs and care about Fareham too. We hold regular events such as debates, workshops, discussion and policy meetings and social events like Pub Quizzes!
The subject of the debate is: “The UK should take further military action against ISIL in Syria”. I’m particularly interested in finding out what young people think about this issue in light of my recent Parliamentary visit to the British Army Training Unit in Suffield (BATUS), Canada, where I met many British troops in training for battle. It was an eye-opening experience and especially significant in light of the likely debate and vote on whether the UK should launch airstrikes on Syria.
