Several constituents have been in contact with me about problems with their broadband. I have met with representatives of telecommunications companies to discuss their plans for the Fareham area and raised concerns about the ongoing problems in parts of the constituency. Residents in and around Whiteley and Locks Heath have reported issues with slow broadband speeds whilst in some other areas of the constituency access to mobile broadband has been difficult.
Whilst the Government has done great work on broadband in recent years, with over £1 billion invested and over 90% of UK businesses and residents now able to access superfast broadband, however problems still remain, and it's important that we continue investing in extending coverage.
I am holding another public meeting with representatives of the main telecommunications companies so that residents can put their concerns directly to them. The details of the event can be found below:
Date: Friday 3rd November 2017
Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Venue: Titchfield Community Centre, Mill Street, Titchfield, PO14 4AB
