A sunny start to the campaign meeting Easter Weekend shoppers at the wonderful Farmers' Market on West Street in Fareham. Fareham Conservatives were out talking to local people about their concerns and meeting the 40 independent traders. All manner of local produce is sold: from organic fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, homebaked bread and cakes, to locally brewed beer and garden plants. There is an environment where producers are helping to educate people that buying local produce is important because it boosts the local rural economy, redues food miles and shows commmitment to the environment.
We had a great reception from local shoppers: many people are fearful of a Labour-SNP government which will only ruin the economic recovery that local businesses, families and pensioners are enjoying.
Thanks to all volunteers who came out to help: Mark Hoban, Cllrs Brian Bayford, Leslie Keeble, Connie Hockley, Mike Ford, David Swanbrow, Trevor Cartwright, Tiffany Harper, Pam Bryant, CCllrs George Ringrow, Peter Latham and Geoff Hockley and volunteers Christine Keeble, Tina Ellis, Harry Kewish, Keith Barton, William Rowland, Louise, Emily, Graham and Gary.
